Analog Handheld Refractometers

The classic handlheld refractometer is an invaluable tool in product testing. To use simply place two to three drops of the sample on the main prism, close the plastic cover, and hold the unit up to the light to read the soluble solids (BRIX)%

These units are seperated by their BRIX ranges and also whether or not the have Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC). ATC units automatically adjust readings when the temperature of a sample varies from 68°F (20°C). If using a refractometer without ATC, the BRIX readings will vary approximately 0.5% for every 10°F that sample is from 68°F.
